Abstract
This study proposed an enhanced differential protection technique for microgrid based on moving average of current sample data. In this proposed technique moving average of Teager-kaiser energy is computated in the retrieved currents of both ends of the feeder. Moving average technique is employed to compute differential energy. With varied operating conditions and network topology, a reasonable threshold for distinguishing fault and no fault scenarios is determined. The proposed technique's efficacy is evaluated in terms of speed, dependability, reliability, and security. The results demonstrate that the proposed technique is accurate.
