Abstract
This essay outlines the primary auxiliary functions of narrowband Internet of Things (NBIoT) in smart cities (SC). This study will take into account situations when there is certain infrastructure set up for the SC functions. The adoption of NBIoT helps to streamline the strategic planning process and boost overall operations. SC projects are quite well-liked in the civilized countries. It has recently gained popularity also in poorer nations. The SC activities contain a considerable number of tasks. It includes fundamental services including the provision of water and power, the upkeep of streetlights, traffic control in urban areas, waste disposal, and assistance with efficient law enforcement. Additionally, it offers cutting-edge services including tracking for security and monitoring, smart healthcare, position & additionally, it offers cutting-edge services including location-based tracking solutions, smart healthcare, protection and surveillance checking, and intelligent automotive network. Such tasks are aided by a number of communication and information innovation solutions. IoT has been discovered to be outstanding in such service supply activities. There are several resources required for IoT deployment on a broad scale. NBIoT is among the IoT versions that use the least amount of resources, as is already widely known. It is appropriate for widespread deployment in initiatives like smart grids and SC. This paper demonstrates how NBIoT may significantly help with SC tasks.
