Abstract
We investigate the skills that in the accounting student’ s perception were most developed in online education. Complementary, and based on the recognition of distance higher education degrees as an alternative and effective model for the first-line students’ qualification around the world, as well as in lifelong learning, this research seeks also to assess the level of satisfaction with on line pedagogical practices and assessment methods. The research evidence emerges a questionnaire distributed to accounting students by the end of the financial accounting module, in July 2022. Despite the technical complexities underlying this subject, satisfaction levels reported were encouragingly high, especially amongst the older students and highlights the skills that, in the student’ s perception, wore most improve, namely collaboration and leadership, creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
