Abstract
We report realization of a kidney proximal tubule-on-a-chip by seeding hiPSC-derived cells for the first time showing higher expression levels of proximal tubule proteins over those of immortalized cells (RPTECs). Alongside, we demonstrated the dynamics of flow-induced Ca 2+ signaling under different flow-induced shear stress values. This can be helpful in on-chip modeling of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) by comparing with patient-derived iPS cells.
