Abstract
Waste heat recovery technologies from engine exhaust are promising solutions for increasing energy efficiency, reducing fuel consumption, and decreasing greenhouse gas emissions. Heat exchangers play a crucial role in waste heat recovery from engine exhaust. In this study, a numerical simulation was carried out to investigate the performance of counter shell and tube heat exchanger with and without inner fin geometry. A CFD analysis showed that the addition of inner fins in heat exchanger improved the heat transfer performance of heat exchanger. Further, the use of GO/water nanofluid is effective to reduce the exhaust air temperature and increase the overall effectiveness of heat exchanger.
