Abstract
Through the dedication in technology innovation and differentiation, Canadian Solar has firstly realized high efficiency multi-Si bifacial PERC cells and modules in PV industry in 2018. The R&D multi-Si bifacial PERC cell efficiency reaches 21.4% and the 72-cell module (144 half-cell format) wattage exceed 410W. The high efficiency attribute to the state-of-the-art black-silicon texturing, laser doping selective emitter, bifacial PERC, optimized stack layers antifriction, 9-busbar and fine-line printing. Some breakthroughs in mitigating LID/LeTiD of CSI’s mc-Si PERC cells were made, including ingot dopant control, optimized process to suppress defect formation, and advanced Regeneration technology. They help to achieve the indoor accelerated LeTiD to less than 1.5% after 2000 hours (equivalent to 8 years of hot climate outdoor exposure), and the light induced degradation to 1% after 300kWh/m 2 outdoor light soaking tested by TÜV. The advantage of the multi-Si bifacial PERC cells and modules demonstrates the competitiveness of CSI’s high efficiency multi-Si products.
