Abstract
The current paper discusses new technique i.e., ASFC method for controlling the speed of 2-ph. induction motor using 2-leg voltage source converter. In ASFC method an algorithm is proposed which gives relation among the average speed & stator flux modulus. Therefore controlling stator flux modulus, speed can be controlled. This method is depends upon dynamic model of motor and hence, its dynamic behavior is good. There is no requirement of current transducer making this method cost effective. The motor with ASFC drive can be used where requirement of speed is high also where field is weak. The rightness of the presented method is seen by testing in MATLAB software.
