Abstract
The paper presents a new control method for voltage inverter as part of an energy storage system. It improves the quality of electrical energy in the power supply system based on an electric generating unit at abruptly variable load conditions. The proposed control method allows controlling the type and duration of the transient at the generator output with a constant load profile. Simulation modeling of the considered power supply system with the presented control method is carried out. A verified model of a medium power diesel generator set is used as an electric generator unit model. The electrical energy quality indicators are obtained. The results comparison is provided: when the load is directly connected to the generator set and when the previously known control method of the voltage inverter. The paper will be useful for energy storage systems designers for autonomous power supply systems.
