Abstract
We experimentally demonstrate a micro-fabricated optically tunable terahertz (THz) perfect absorber utilizing sub-wavelength split ring resonator arrays with photo-conductive silicon islands in the capacitive gaps (Fig. 1). We achieved approximately 90% normalized absorption and 44% absorption intensity modulation at the resonance frequency 0.7 THz.
