Abstract
In this paper, firstly a summary of modulation methods of multilevel inverters is reviewed. Then, Third Harmonic Injection PWM and Space Vector Modulation for 7-level inverters are investigated in detail. In section II, open loop control of SVM-7 Level and THI-SPWM-7 level are simulated and results of these simulations are compared with each other and with SPWM. In the following an induction motor as a load connected to 7-level CHB converter and it's controlled by FOC method with two modulations and results of these simulations are compared with each other and it's realized that SVM modulation is better than the other modulation in terms of THD. The last section of this paper is dedicated for implementation of proposed modulation techniques on DSP 2000 and based on output pulses of DSP, power loss of these techniques are compared in practical and it is observed that the SVM modulation has lower THD and lower power loss than other methods.
