Abstract
This paper investigates through simulation the design of a sliding recharge system for road vehicles which introduces some features such as the usage of a safe single wire recharge systems and the possibility of Vehicle to Vehicle power exchange when performing convoying. Proposed vehicles can be treated as an innovative tram-bus system designed to operate with dynamically varying compositions. In the paper features and layout of proposed system are introduced and investigated using a model which reproduces some typical mission profiles.
