Abstract
A wide locking range injection-locked prescaler based on CMOS ring oscillators in the 0.25-μm CMOS process is described. The prescaler’s free-running frequency is 1.47GHz, and the locking range covers from 1GHz to 2.4GHz with in-phase and quadrature output. The prescaler dissipates 1.9mA from a 3.3-V power supply.
