Abstract
In the future 5G mobile communication system, relay cooperation is known as one of the significant technologies to implement green communication. In a cooperative communication system, the selection of relay mode determines the performance of the system to a certain extent. This paper focused on a three-terminal relay network to compare with the performance of three relay selection techniques, i.e., amplify-and-forward (AF), decode-and-forward (DF), and code cooperation (CC), taking bit error rate (BER) as an indicator, in the additive white gaussian noise and Rayleigh fading channel, adopting the mode of Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK). Meanwhile, the closed expression of their BER was deduced, utilizing the simulation software MATLAB in the same channel conditions are compared with their performance, and the simulation results demonstrated that employing BPSK scheme, the performance of three relay selection techniques was obviously better than that of the direct transfer mode, however, the BER of DF cooperative transmission model was always superior to that of AF cooperative transmission mode and CC transmission mode.
