Abstract
This paper describes international humanitarian efforts for the deployment of technology in healthcare centers in developing countries, with focus on individual identification tied to health records. The paper describes an implementation plan for a RFID-backed community e-Health solution where patients are given RFID tags for their identification, the community healthcare workers are given a mobile RFID read/write device and the central health care facility is equipped with an electronic medical record system to bring all the components together. RFID read/write devices can be located at the central medical facility as well to make use of the electronic medical record system.
