Abstract
In this paper, a theoretical research and application comparison of two differential pressure flowmeters measurement principles which are orifice plate and venturi was conducted to verify that the venturi flowmeters is suitable for high precision flow measurement in small flow rate dust particle counter and planktonic bacteria flow calibration device. The theoretical research was carried out by changing the throttle structure parameters, media type and temperature parameters in the software fluent, and experimental research between the venturi and orifice were carried out in the same conditions. Theoretical simulation results show that the venturi internal pressure distribution is relatively balanced, in the same flow state, the internal pressure of the orifice plate is much larger than the venturi. At the same time, the experimental results show that the venturi flowmeters measurement error is about ± 0.75 % , the orifice plate flowmeters measurement error is about ± 1.50%, and the venturi flowmeters measurement accuracy is better than the orifice plate flowmeters. Therefore, the venturi flowmeters is suitable for use as a flowmeters in a small flow rate dust particle counter and planktonic bacteria flow calibration device.
