Abstract
The piers are scoured by water and sediment all year round, so it is necessary to study the protection of piers. In recent years, scholars have made breakthrough in the research of scour mechanism, scour depth calculation and pier protection measures. In this paper, three groups of slotted square pier models are established through ICEM, and Fluent is used for calculation and analysis. It is concluded that the pier opening is conducive to reducing the local scour caused by water flow, and the Y-shaped joint has a significant effect on reducing the scour caused by water flow, which provides a reference for the subsequent research on pier scour prevention and bridge construction.
