Abstract
A broadband whip antenna is showed in this article. The design antenna is realized on a flexible printed circuit board (PCB) and the feed network is designed on the FR-4. The bandwidth ratio of 10:1 from 0.92 GHz to 10 GHz with S 11 less than -10 dB is obtained. The electrical size of the whip antenna is 0.31λ 0 (λ 0 is wavelength of the minimum operating frequency). Finally, the antenna is fabricated and tested. The test results and simulation are in good agreement. The proposed whip antenna is a nice choice for software define radio SDR application.
