Abstract
This manuscript compares the assignment of well-known conventional configuration and the assignment having the best performance on adjacent output phase differences, which is a special case of the general configuration on one-dimensional parallel switching matrices with four beams having the same topology as a single-layer Butler matrix, though the values of phase shift differ.
