Abstract
In order to analyze the propagation characteristics of microwave relay equipment in Canyon terrain, "FEKO+WINPROP" software of 2018 edition was applied to find out the reasonable location of relay equipment. Firstly, FEKO software is used to calculate the actual antenna pattern, and then the antenna pattern is used as a parameter to calculate the effective coverage of microwave relay equipment in WINPROP software. Finally, the communication is achieved by choosing the reasonable position as the relay point in the effective coverage range. Taking a canyon area as an example, the radio wave is carried out in the area of a certain canyon. The location of relay equipment is obtained by the propagation prediction calculation in this area. The calculation results show that the method is accurate and practical.
