Abstract
Ethics is a crucial aspect in developing the professional identity of engineers. Moral motivation is an important predictor of ethical behavior, however, it is not easy to assess. We examined the relationship between engineering undergraduates' level of orientation to the people in their environment and their sociopolitical control with their ethical responses to engineering scenarios. Our findings were contrary to our predictions. We discuss our findings in the context of improving ethics education in engineering curricula.
