Abstract
The successive reduction of conventional power plants has to be compensated by regenerative generation in the future. Present converter systems use grid-following control methods, which do not provide instantaneous power, among other purposes. For this reason, it is essential to develop new algorithms, which offer essential system services. Based on this problem, the focus of this paper is the integration of a suitable energy storage system into a converter system with an associated control algorithm to provide instantaneous power and further system services.
