Abstract
This paper considers the problem of radar target detection in compound Gaussian clutter background. Different from the existing detector design criteria, we firstly study the detection problem by introducing an auxiliary variable, as a consequence, the detection problem is recast into a binary quadratic programming (BQP) problem. Considering the binary nature of the auxiliary variable, we apply the relaxation algorithm to solve the BQP problem and propose a new detection scheme for the detection problem. Finally, simulation experiments are performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed detector in comparison with several state-of-the-art detectors.
