Abstract
Video transmission is a key technology of security monitoring systems used in underground constructions. The video transmission based on carrier wave is an emerging and promising technology compared with the widely used technologies using coaxial cable, twisted-pair wire, optical fiber, and wireless wave. The study presents a novel design scheme of image transmission system based on carrier wave. By virtue of the design scheme, video signals can be transmitted by using the existing low-voltage power line. Thus, the cost of laying new transmission network can be saved. A prototype of the system was developed and tested on-site. The results of experiments show that the design scheme of the system is reasonable. In addition, the system is capable of transmitting image with high quality by using low-voltage power line.
