Abstract
An underwater Junction Box with 3500 meters deep rate has been designed and realized to distribute electrical power and an optical fiber channel for communication. The Junction box is a part of the IDMAR infrastructure and is presently operative. IDMAR is a sea floor network devoted to host cross-fertilisation sea science. This paper describes the technical solution adopted to address the Junction Box extreme operational environment.
