Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present a system to assess the impact of voice coaching by teammates on players’ physical performance in football. To clarify the relationship between the movement of football players and the presence of coaching, we conducted experiments using a voice recorder with a pin microphone and a wearable GPS device, assuming a one-on-one task during a match. The results showed that the variation of the player load was significantly smaller when verbal communication was present. We confirmed that it is possible to quantify the impact of coaching on players’ physical performance in a one-on-one environment with our system. This system expects to lead the quantitative evaluation of the effects of coaching and is expected to be applied not only to football but also to many other sports.
