Abstract
In general applications of inverters, it is necessary to boost the dc link voltage. As a result, the boost converter is generally installed in a first stage to implement such capability. This paper proposes a novel converter which unifies the boost chopper and inverter. By means of merely altering the connecting terminal of the inverter, the dc voltage of the corresponding inverter voltage can be boosted to double at maximum. In both of half bridge and full bridge circuit configurations, the method to give the double dc voltage is proposed and examined. In a final stage, another novel configuration is presented and discussed.
