Abstract
This paper presents the latest system trends to overcome the increasing 5G demands based on a highly digitized Continuous-Time Bandpass $\Sigma\Delta$ ADC. Different versions of the proposed solutions are presented with the latest architecture achieving up to 437 MHz bandwidth (BW), with power consumption below 150 mW, sensitivity reaching −90 dBm, and SNR of 60 dB including a digital back-end creating a full RF to bits link. Also, a Digital Beamforming (DBF) is deployed where a throughput of 5.76 Gbps is achieved with 16 channels and 8 beams operation reaching a total Figure of Merit (FOM) of sub-1 pJ/bit.
