Cause of death has been dramatically changed in Southeast Asia, from communicable to non-communicable diseases, which is known as epidemiological transition, due to rapid economic growth. Diabetes mellitus is one of major types of noncommunicable diseases and non-curable chronic conditions requiring management through lifestyle changes. In this research, prototype of medical and dietary record system cloud to support diabetic patient care in Lao PDR is presented, through which physicians connects with patients with webmobile-based application for patient dietary management. The mobile health system aims to increase awareness about importance of nutrition for diabetic patient resulting in better control and prevention of complications. No previous mobile health challenge has been conducted in Lao as far as our research.
