Abstract
With the continuous development of power system, the working stability of electrical equipment in substation has been widely concerned by people. The gas-solid interface of insulation equipment is easy to become a high field strength area because of the uneven distribution of media. Under the influence of the multi-physical field coupling of electromagnetic, thermal and fluid in the substation, arc breakdown materials will eventually be formed. Therefore, the study of arc generation is of great significance to the study of power disaster and the safe and stable operation of the system itself. In this paper, based on the analysis of the physical characteristics of the faulty DC arc, the numerical calculation method of the arc is deeply studied. The complex arc formation process is simulated by COMSOL software, and the relationship between each physical field of the arc and the external characteristics of the arc is studied.
