Abstract
In this paper, a quad band monopole antenna excited by the asymmetric coplanar strip (ACS) feed is designed for 5G and space applications. The top plane is composed of a narrow rectangular slot with extended L -shaped strips on the top surface of substrate and bottom is partial ground plane. It is designed on FR-4 substrate with thickness 0.8mm and it has compact size 11mm*16mm. The simulated and measured results show that the proposed antenna can operate over the 3.36–3.45 GHz, 3.75–3.80 GHz, 4.65–5.06GHz and 6.55–6.70 GHz. The proposed antenna reaches maximum gain over 5 – 6dB and its radiation efficiency is 76 – 90%. It is observed that the proposed antenna has good radiation pattern and good acceptable gain over operating bandwidth. This design process is simulated using HFSS simulation tool.
