Abstract
This letter deals with the problem of evaluating the effect of a cylindrical metallic cavity on the radiation of a planar longitudinally polarized Bessel beam launcher, as it could arise in applications related to microwave heating or plasma ignition. A full analytical model is developed to extract fundamental physics insight of the problem at hand. Full-wave numerical simulations by COMSOL multiphysics are used to validate the proposed model, showing fair agreement between simulations and theoretical predictions.
