Abstract
Atmospheric pressure plasma spraying (APPS) for graphene/graphene composite coatings holds great potential for metal-based composite coatings, wear-resistant coatings, absorbing coatings, self-lubricating coatings, and more. In this review, recent progress in APPS technology is presented and key scientific and technological issues are discussed. The scope of our discussion includes the quality of prepared coating, coating porosity, the impact of equipment long-term service on coating performance, as well as graphene oxide coating material. Finally, a comprehensive analysis of the future development directions of APPS graphene/graphene composite technology is provided, to guide the multidisciplinary integration and utilization of plasma surface strengthening technology.
