Abstract
This publication presents the application of correlation analysis to the study on the possibilities of solar energy use. It is shown the assessment of the impact of air quality on the possibility of using chosen source of renewable energy. The most intense effects of poor air quality can be observed in urban areas where human activities generate pollution in various forms. The aim of the analysis was to investigate the relationship between the amount of solar radiation reaching solar panels and atmospheric pollution caused by climatic and anthropogenic factors in the designated location. Dependency analysis between the experimental data and the amount of light intensity were conducted by selected statistical correlation tests. The Matlab / Simulink software was used for calculations.
