Abstract
The rapidly growing energy demand is being achieved by renewable energy sources. However intermittent nature of the latter's supply poses significant difficulties for grid operators. In order to counteract these sporadic sources, a battery storage system (BSS) might be connected and thus enabling the construction of a DC microgrid. In this work, solar PV is integrated with a battery and the load requirement is met by the controller keeping the voltage constant. The maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of the solar PV is obtained using the fuzzy logic control (FLC). The FLC is found to efficiently track the the maximum power from the PV panel with the variation in irradiance and change in temperature. The simulation outcomes verify the PV system's performance when integrated with a BSS under standard test conditions.
