Abstract
Inductive power transfer (IPT) has been widely used in electric vehicles (EVs), train power supplies, and other fields. Especially misalignment tolerance is an important characteristic for evaluating the performance of IPT systems in EVs. This paper proposes LCC 2 -S topology for misalignment tolerance. And proposed a coil composed of three unipolar windings nested to smooth changes in mutual inductance. The transmit side consists of two such coils, then the trend of the mutual inductances between the two transmitting and receiving coils maintain similarly. The coil electromagnetic and system mathematical models have been built and analyzed, and the output current expression has been derived. Finally, the theoretical analysis of the LCC 2 -S is verified by theoretical calculation and simulation. The results show LCC 2 -S topology has better misalignment tolerance in the door-to-door direction of the EVs.
