Abstract
We have used a hovering-type AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle), “Hobalin” for investigation of hydrothermal fields. Data of deep seafloor images and water sensor were obtained. Both optical observations and water sensor measurements were valid for detection of small hydrothermal vents, and water temperature distribution near seafloor was efficient for estimation of their positions.
