Abstract
This paper demonstrates an artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm for MPPT for high-performance wind generators with DFIG machine under dynamic weather conditions. The wind turbine system should be operated at the maximum power point by finding out the optimum rotor speed that ensures the maximum energy is harvested from the available wind. This algorithm works without speed sensors and does not require any previous information of the wind energy system. Simulation results of the proposed algorithm have shown good performances under different wind speeds and show that this algorithm considered for MPPT is simple, accurate and most effective during variable wind speed.
