Abstract
This paper proposes applying Equilibrium Optimizer (EO), African Vultures (AVOA), and Gorilla Troops (GTO), recently developed optimization techniques, to find the optimal reconfiguration of the electrical distribution network that reduces the annual cost of energy losses incurred during the network's permanent operation, considering the hourly variations of load demand. First, we suggest a mathematical formulation of the objective function and of all the necessary operational and radiality constraints that must be met. These algorithms are then implemented on the 69-node test system for analysis and resolution purposes. Finally, the efficacy of the suggested methods is evaluated. Results show that using the EO algorithm has a substantial impact on reducing the costs related to annual energy loss and improving the node voltage levels.
