Abstract
This paper proposes a novel concept of a dual-band array antenna to achieve large-scale stacked differential rectenna arrays. The proposed array antenna consists of three 2.45-GHz band and four 5.8-GHz band antenna elements on a double-layer substrate. The performance of the antenna is analyzed using electromagnetic simulation for the overlapping widths and element spacings of 2.45- and 5.8-GHz antenna elements. The antenna layout is optimized to have a high gain at 2.45 and 5.8 GHz. The gain of the array antenna is 12.2 dBi and 13.8 dBi at 2.45 and 5.8 GHz, respectively.
