Abstract
“Talent's ON e.DO Cube” Hackathon is an added value module, based on virtual hackathon setting, to promote sustained innovation and crowdsource solutions, to address real-life business topics and social issues. The hackathon served as a pivot-point from bachelor studies and challenged students to collaborate, in a time-stressed situation, for achieving a common result. Within a time-bound of 2 days competitive event, participants have to collaborate to build proofs of concept and minimum viable products for specific topics with innovative perspectives. This type of hackathon realized with e.DO Cube offered various advantages, among them the inclusivity (gender gap) and agility, it promotes multidisciplinary collaboration, and it is an innovative method to promote new ideas and original POCs (Proof of Concepts) within Manufacturing 4.0 scope. The proposal also includes a study done by POLIMI to measure the effectiveness of this specific pedagogical approach towards specific learning outcomes.
