Abstract
We present an improved mechanical end turn design for the 33 T resistive magnets, which have been installed in 2003 at the Nijmegen HFML. The improvement was necessary because of a failing clamping construction of the innermost two coils, which are electrically as well as mechanically in parallel. We show that by taking proper care it is possible to reliably clamp parallel coils with only one set of tierods, leaving as much space as possible for the conductor material of the innermost coil.
