Abstract
A data-driven method is proposed for rigid motion estimation directly from TOF-PET emission data, and tested on 18 F-FDG as well as 11 C_PIB brain datasets. We observe the method to be robust against continuous patient motion where conventional frame based approaches would fail. With a postfiltering of the estimated motion trace, sub-second traces of patient motion can be captured.
