Abstract
This paper presents an antenna combination for RADAR-based interrogation of Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) resonators in dynamic environment. Operating in the Industrial, Scientific and Medical (ISM) band centered in 434 MHz, the transceiver is connected to a printed loop antenna located around a 3 cm diameter steel axis. The receiving part is composed by a ceramic antenna connected to a temperature SAW sensor and is embedded on an aluminum clamp system. Simulation of the loop, antenna parameters and dynamic temperature measurement results performed in this particular environment are presented.
