Abstract
In this article, an effective and approach to discovering the optimal sizing and placement of DSTATCOM for reducing the system loss minimization discussed. The most effective Ant lion optimization (ALO) algorithm is applied in IEEE 33 Bus Radial Distribution System (RDS) to discover the optimal sizing and location of DSTATCOM. This proposed methods performance e over the existing convention methods in reducing the system real and reactive power loss is also discussed. Enhancement of system voltage profile is plotted.
