Abstract
In this paper, an array simultaneous multi-beam forming method based on an improved particle swarm algorithm is proposed. The improved algorithm uses a good-point set combined with opposition-based learning to initialize the particle swarm. Three parameters are also designed to balance the influence of inertial weight, personal experience, and social experience. Furthermore, to prevent falling into local optimal solution, twenty percent of particles with the worst fitness are disturbed based on the logistic chaotic equation in each iteration. At the same time, the algorithm uniformly quantizes the amplitude and phase of the element to satisfy the hardware requirements. Simulation verifies that the proposed method can simultaneously generate multiple beams with almost the same gain regardless of the size of the array, so it could be a good choice for communication systems and microwave imaging.
