Abstract
Recently, focusing research and innovation capacities on the main human fall elements and minimizing their complications is a necessity. For this purpose, using the multimodal method with wearable sensors, development systems, and algorithms or strategies that meet approaches of assessment, prevention, and detection. Besides searching for individuals' wellbeing and reducing the loss of lives and injuries, as well as decreasing the cost of healthcare systems. This paper provides a general outlook of wearable devices regarding falls with a multimodal focus, studying the different signals acquired, features extracted, and algorithms, also understanding their limitations in generating new methods. Likewise, this study uses the three approaches, to merge into one study, since the reviewed literature does not consider all three focuses simultaneously.
