Abstract
This article presents a novel near omni-directional rectenna model consisting of six 2×2 rectangular patch antenna arrays placed in a hexagonal geometry and a rectifier with high RF-to-DC conversion efficiency for harvesting ambient RF microwave energy at 2.4 GHz. Rectifier is designed using SMS7630 diode with series topology configuration. A 6-way RF power combiner is used to combine power from antenna faces and combined power is fed into the rectifier. Simulations for the antenna model are performed using ANSYS HFSS and for the rectifier model using Keysight ADS.
