Abstract
A model for single tree scattering is being developed. The model is to be validated by measurements performed at 2 GHz with the use of a remote-controlled airship in the area of Prague, the Czech Republic. The first level of the model, accounting for the trunk and main branches, is based on Physical Optics techniques applied to dielectrics and is presented in this paper and compared with one set of experimental data. The model will be completed with the inclusion of the contributions, coherent and incoherent, of the leafy canopy. As the work is still ongoing, only the preliminary results are shown.
