Abstract
Counterfeiting electronics is a cause of labour exploitation, environmental harms and potentially dangerous products. It is a form of fraud and represents a critical reliability concern. In manufacturing, the use of undetected counterfeits can lead to increased scrap rates, early field failures, and increased rework rates causing a dramatic reduction of the reliability of systems.
