Abstract
Global warming is a result of the use of fossil fuels. To overcome this problem, renewable energy sources need to be encouraged. Among the renewable energy sources that are currently the most effective are Photovoltaic (PV), which convert sunlight into electrical energy. However, PV can only produce electrical energy from morning to evening and in the form of Direct Current (DC) power. Therefore, batteries are needed as energy storage and inverters. This research discusses inverters with low harmonics through the Selective Harmonic Elimination Pulse Width Modulation (SHEPWM) technique to increase the utility of an integrated PV-battery system. The whole system then be implemented for agricultural irrigation pumps.
